Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking input for its 2025-2029 Council Plan, which will outline strategies and goals for enhancing council’s service delivery, activities and decision-making.
This collaboration between the council and its residents is crucial for developing a plan with a shared vision: to make Greater Shepparton a desirable, healthy, prosperous, safe, and inclusive place to call home.
Council’s Director of Corporate Services Chris Teitzel said feedback was already pouring in and encouraged residents who hadn’t completed the survey yet to do so.
“We’ve seen some really good engagement with the community since the survey opened, including feedback from 218 community members via the pop-up sessions held over the weekend in Kialla, Mooroopna, Shepparton and Tatura,” he said.
“Our community is so diverse and spread over a wide area, and we want to know what is important to them, what they value and what they imagine for Greater Shepparton over the next four years.”
And it doesn’t stop at surveys.
The upcoming Shepparton Winter City Market will offer residents another chance to voice their opinions and ensure that council understands their priorities.
Additionally, the council is establishing a community panel for representatives to discuss the ideas and feedback received from the survey.
“We are looking for a true representation of the community in the workshops, with members of differing ages, genders, locations, backgrounds and cultures,” Mr Teitzel said.
“Anyone interested in being involved can register for selection at the end of the survey.”
The survey is open until Friday, September 13.
For those who prefer to fill out the survey manually, hard copies and survey boxes will be available for the next four weeks at neighbourhood houses, regional general stores and post offices, libraries and the council’s customer service counter at 90 Welsford St, Shepparton.
