School principal Geoff Weppner said he knew COVID-19 would disrupt the usual production in the town hall.
“Our music teacher and learning specialist Rachel Olson decided to figure out a novel way to make sure the students and parents didn’t miss out on this highly-valued annual event,” he said.
To ensure the children would not miss out, the entire production was filmed, edited and produced as a movie.
The movie will be shown in two sessions at Strathmerton Football Ground, at 5 pm and 7 pm on Friday, December 4, in a drive-in-style setting.
The whole production has been pre-recorded and will be watched on a big screen at the football ground.
Parents, carers, siblings, friends and grandparents will be able to attend by paying $10 a car.
Miss Olson wrote, produced and led a group of helpers to create the 2020 production.
“It is always such a special part of the year and a wonderful opportunity for all of our students to participate in a whole school production,” she said.
“Our senior students especially have missed out on so much during 2020 and I was determined to find a way for them to still be able to perform, even if it does look a little different.”
