Improvements to the stable block, skillion shed, chicken shed and cattle loading ramp along with the installation of new sports netting have been completed thanks to the Federal Government's Drought Communities Programme Extension Fund.
The upgrades include new flooring sub-bases and an evening out of the flooring surface to provide safer footing for livestock, while the loading ramp has new rails and gates for better safety when loading and unloading stock.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Kim O'Keeffe said facility users would see a noticeable improvement from the $53,523 investment.
“Users of the facility will appreciate the number of improvements to Tatura Park, these improvements will increase the comfort of the animals in the stables and sheds, and the usability of the complex,” she said.
“The Tatura Park complex hosts in excess of 40 events annually including International Dairy Week which has been held at the venue for over 30 years.
“It is imperative that we continue to support these events and their economic impact through ongoing capital improvements to the facility.”
