A $2000 sponsorship by Cardamone Real Estate allowed the Lions to screen 88 people for free over the weekend.
Three Lions members who are nurses qualified in skin cancer screening travel around the region on the Lions Cancer Foundation bus, providing free skin checks with support of the local Lions branches.
The bus is based in Bendigo, from where the volunteer driver, who is also a Lions member, travels all over the region to provide access to skin cancer screening to people who may otherwise not be able to have the life-saving check.
The Tatura Lions donate an average of $20,000 to the community each year. The Tatura sub-branch invested $4000 in the screening bus, which is now saving lives in the community.
