The store was recently recognised at the 2024 National IGA Awards of Excellence on July 15, taking home one of the big awards of the night.
Winning the 2024 National Large Transformation and Innovation Award, the Tatura store was recognised for their recent transformation and expansion, as well as their sale of premium products.
Ritchie’s IGA and Liquor national marketing manager Chris Jonker said he was very proud of the Tatura store winning a top prize.
“We were up against the rest of Australia, and the Tatura store took out the award for innovation and transformation,” Mr Jonker said.
“It’s a great recognition for the amount of work that they’ve done out at Tatura, and it’s an incredible store to look at what can be done in regional areas as well.”
The Tatura store is no stranger to these awards.
At the state awards, they didn’t leave empty-handed, also taking home the Innovation and Transformation award as well as the Large Victorian Store of the Year.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t take out the national award for that, but we are up against the best of Australia,” Mr Jonker said.
“It’s a great store with a great team, and (we’re thankful for) the excellent support from the local community.”
Mr Jonker said the team already has their sights set on the awards next year, looking to defend their state titles.
