A major attraction during the popular Rutherglen Tastes March long weekend March 8 -10, the Art Prize breathes life and colour into the community through the arts.
Previous history indicates the Art Prize will again be a huge drawcard for visitors who also come to experience the wonderful hospitality, exceptional food and extraordinary wines for which Rutherglen is known.
Not only are there significant entries from local, and regional artists, there has have been artists from as far afield as Queensland and Western Australian who have heard about the Art Prize’s professional reputation and high standard and have been motivated to enter.
In 2025 Arts of Rutherglen are pleased to have attracted many new artists along with the return of many favourites.
The youth entries have doubled in number which speaks highly of the fostering of creativity by art teachers in our secondary schools
Arts Rutherglen is delighted to announce that with sustained and generous sponsorship from businesses, they have a superb prize pool of $16,350 covering the categories of Painting/Mixed Media, Work on Paper, 3D Artworks, Photography and Youth.
Gala Opening Night, when winners will be announced by our three judges, Di Kotzur, Ben Eyles and Christine Cansfield-Smith, with the winning works unveiled, on Friday, March 7 commencing at 6.30pm.

The Exhibition runs from March 8 – 16 at Memorial Hall, Rutherglen with a $5 entry.
Students are complimentary.
