Tank’s artwork, in both its content and form, refuses to settle down.

However, that does not mean the artist has to.
Tucked between Shingo’s and McKellar’s Picture Framing in Shepparton, Tank’s Art Gallery has emerged, and its grand opening, on Thursday, February 6, is said to be a milestone worthy of a celebration.
“This gallery was 25 years in the making,” Tank said.
“I’m celebrating 25 years of being a Shepparton artist this year, so it’s been a long time coming.”
Guests can expect an evening of art, food and community spirit, along with a chance to meet Tank and explore a diverse range of artworks, including Tank and Tobin Sculptures.
“People get snippets of my art online, but a lot of people tell me, ‘I wish I could come and see your works’,” Tank said.
“So, there are works dating back beyond 20 years that a lot of people haven’t seen before — it’s a really good collection of my art.”
The space serves as both a studio and a gallery for the crackerjack creative while also elevating the local art scene.
Local artists will showcase their works alongside Tank’s pieces, starting with veteran clay thrower Kaye Poulton and her pottery inspired by the environment.
“At this point in time, Shepparton doesn’t have a good spot for local artists to sell their stuff, so I’m pretty happy about getting to help the local arts community like that,” Tank said.
After the grand opening, the gallery will be open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, featuring a collection that promises to be perpetually fresh.
“From artworks to prints, to some pretty funky merchandise, Tank Art cups and locally designed giftware, people can pop in and buy something for themselves or a cool gift for someone else,” Tank said.
“There’ll be more things coming in the future ... it’s going to be ever-evolving.”
The grand opening of Tank’s Art Gallery is on Thursday, February 6, from 6pm to 8pm, at 175 Corio St, Shepparton.
