The quest attracted a record number of entrants including solo vocalists, hip hop dancers, tap and theatre performances, instrumentalists and a full band.
ClubMulwala’s Entertainment Co-ordinator Trish Storer said the talent quest is always an extraordinary event at the club.
“The Talent Quest is a great opportunity for talents of all ages and types to have an opportunity to perform for a panel of judges, on a stage with professional sound, and receive constructive feedback,” Ms Storer said.
“The Quest continues to expose some real up and coming talent which is awesome to witness, but its also a great chance for kids to just have a go at performing, and we love to see that.”
Highlights of the talent quest this time included a four-piece band of siblings – the Loughridge family including 15 year old Bethany playing keyboard, Elliot (13 years) on guitar, Toby (11 years) on bass and nine year old Meg as vocalist.
Each of the siblings also competed individually with Bethany switching to the cello.
Ms Storer said the talent quest, which is co-ordinated in partnership with local sound and production expert Anthony Tenace, was this time joined by popular local performer Jade Camden as MC.
“Jade provided a really lively atmosphere. We were really thrilled also to have a number of our local musicians volunteer as Judges,” Ms Storer said.
“To have the likes of Scott Solimo, Daine Runnalls, Mick Carmelotti, Ray Macartney and Heather Chapman share their expertise was beneficial for the kids and very generous of them.
“Choosing winners in each of the age-group is always a challenge but we hope that all entrants will walk away having enjoyed the experience and continue to work on their talents.
“We hope to see them and more entrants at the next quest which will be held in early January.”
