The Victorian Department of Transport is warning drivers to take care, as roads across the region are closed due to flooding or are impacted by flood waters, fallen trees and debris.
Poor conditions are making driving on major roads such as the Hume Fwy, Northern Hwy and Midland Hwy treacherous, particularly around Seymour, Bendigo and Echuca.
Many smaller roads around the region are closed.
The department said the situation was dynamic, and motorists were strongly encouraged to defer travel until conditions improved.
If travel is essential, live updates and real-time traffic information is available at traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au or via the VicTraffic mobile app.
Road hazards can be reported to the Transport Operations Centre on 13 11 70 (open 24/7).
