Emergency services were called to the Murray River at the end of Micks Beach Rd, Barooga, following reports of a man having difficulty in the water about 12.30pm on Friday, January 24.
A short time later, NSW police officers attached to Murray River Police District responded, with assistance from Victoria Police, Marine Area Command, Marine Rescue NSW and the SES.
Emergency services, including Marine Rescue Moama branch volunteers, searched the river for the 23-year-old Victorian man on Friday afternoon, before resuming the search again on Saturday morning.
The body of a man was located in the water about 11.45am on Saturday.
While it was yet to be formally identified, the body was believed to be that of the missing man.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
The death is the third one along the Murray River this year, following the deaths of Nathan Taylor, 23, at Moama, and a 54-year-old man at Mildura earlier in the month.
