About 8pm, police observed two vehicles engaged in a street race on Cemetery Rd.
It is alleged one vehicle was being driven on the incorrect side of the road, and both were travelling in excess of the speed limit.
“Police did not pursue the vehicles, but later located them with one of the vehicles stopped about 8.30pm on Hardinge St, Deniliquin,” Chief Inspector Michael Fuller said.
“A 19 year-old driver was spoken to. The driver was issued with a licence suspension notice, a number plate confiscation notice and a field court attendance notice.
“The number plates of the vehicle were then seized.
“About 9.15pm, police attended a house in Deniliquin and spoke with a 17 year-old male who is alleged to have been the driver of the other vehicle engaged in the street race.
“The driver was issued with a licence suspension notice and a field court attendance notice.
“The man and the young person will appear at a future date at the Deniliquin Local Court and Deniliquin Children’s Court.”
