The Benalla Street Art Festival 2025 will transform the Rose City into an immersive canvas of contemporary street art from Friday, April 11 to Sunday, April 13.
The event will add to its existing murals and by the time it’s over there will be 85 large-scale works on the urban canvas.
Since Benalla’s bold beginnings in the street art scene a decade ago, its festival has grown from a local event into one of Australia's largest open-air galleries.
The dynamic three-day festival blends jaw-dropping visual art with vibrant live music for all to enjoy.
This year's festival brings together an expectational line-up of talent, including Archibald Packing Room Prize winner Adnate and celebrated muralist Claire Foxton.
Melbourne duo Creature Creature will showcase their Asian-Western fusion style, while Spencer Harrison and Drez bring their geometric and optical artworks.
The roster also features dynamic and acclaimed artists MEGGS, Aurora Campbell, HWJ, Gus Leunig, and Yan Yan Candy Ng who will contribute their unique styles to the festival landscape.
Benalla Mayor Bernie Hearn said the festival's program reflects diverse styles and stories, from large-scale murals to intimate installations.
“I am looking forward to the amazing line up of fantastically talented artists that will be involved in this year’s festival, including Adnate, Drez, Claire Foxton, Spencer Harrison and local artist Gus Leunig,” she said.
“The festival makes Benalla a tourist destination for people to stop and spend time in our town and the artworks are on display 24/7 for everyone to stop and enjoy at no cost, so this is truly a community festival.”
Visitors can witness artists in action as they create new works, join guided tours led by experts, and engage directly with creators through a series of intimate artist talks at the Benalla Cinema and Art Gallery. The addition of new murals by 10 leading artists will further cement Benalla's reputation as a leading destination for contemporary urban art in Australia.
Curated by Eddie Zammit, the festival promises to turn Benalla’s beautiful streetscape into extraordinary masterpieces of contemporary art.
Eddie is keen to celebrate local stories and diversity through art, making this year’s festival a vibrant and meaningful experience.
“It’s great to be back in Benalla to lead the 2025 Street Art Festival,” he said.
“I’m passionate about transforming spaces with innovative art installations—on walls of all shapes and sizes.”
