GV Health chief executive Matt Sharp said the collapse had disrupted some non-essential services, but essential and critical services had not been impacted.
“The extent of the damage is still being assessed across all sites,” Mr Sharp said.
“At the Shepparton hospital in Graham St, there has been a small section of ceiling collapse in the elective admissions area.
“No staff, patients or visitors have been injured and the area has been temporarily closed while the extent of the damage is assessed.”
Mr Sharp said no staff, patients or visitors were injured, but the area had been temporarily closed for the damage to be assessed.
“All essential services are functioning, and critical services such as emergency, theatre and birthing services have not been interrupted,” he said.
“However, there may be some interruptions in relation to less essential services, though every attempt will be made to keep this to a minimum.”
The storm, which dumped rain and hail across the Goulburn Valley, caused interruptions to other GV Health sites.
“At Tatura Hospital and Parkvilla Aged Care, there has been moderate water inundation and the site is running on back-up power due to the mains power being out in the district,” Mr Sharp said.
Again, he said, no staff, patients or visitors were injured and the extent of the damage was being assessed.
