Squires Winery is set to come alive with the inaugural ‘Rock The Squires’ event; an unforgettable night of music, entertainment, and community spirit in support of the Bella Tripp Foundation.
Almost sold out, this special event will feature the electrifying performance of 13-piece band, ‘Big and Horny’, an ensemble guaranteed to get everyone dancing all night long.
Adding to the night’s excitement, Carlton and Yarrawonga Football Club star Brendan Fevola will host the event alongside Hawthorn Football Club legend and media personality Ben Dixon with guests set to enjoy delicious wine, food, and entertainment options designed to cater to everyone.
Attendees are also able to look forward to auctions, exciting prizes, and a vibrant atmosphere that celebrates community and compassion.
The event is a tribute to the life and legacy of Isabella Claire Tripp (Bella), a remarkable young girl whose kindness and love touched everyone she met.
Bella tragically passed away in April 2022 at the age of 14, following a respiratory complication stemming from a bone marrow transplant during her brave battle with leukemia.
In August 2023, the Bella Tripp Foundation (Bella T) was established in her loving memory.
The foundation, which is a not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to raising awareness and funding for early detection and treatment solutions for respiratory complications resulting from bone marrow transplants in children; supporting groundbreaking research to tackle these complications and providing essential support to children and families navigating these challenging circumstances.
Funds raised through ‘Rock The Squires’ will directly support the Bella Tripp Foundation’s mission to reduce, and ultimately eliminate, the risks associated with these life-threatening complications.
Chair of the Bella Tripp Foundation and mum to the beautiful Bella, Yasmina Tripp said the last 12 months has seen The Bella Tripp Foundation directly support critical and ground-breaking medical research that seeks to pave the way to reducing lung complications for children that go through bone marrow transplants.
“The support has actually been overwhelming. We as a family feel very lucky to be part of such a wonderful community,” Mrs Tripp said.
“Isabella loved her time in Yarrawonga and she would be thrilled that we still have such a strong connection with the town.
“With phase one of the investigation well underway, we need to find ways to fund the next stage of this life changing research so the money raised from ticket sales will help us to support the next phase of research into treating respiratory complications of transplant.
“The next step is to assess the phase one findings in a clinical trial where new treatment protocols are trialled for patients who have respiratory disease.
“The money raised at ‘Rock the Squires’ will go towards funding this further research and proposed clinical trials, as crucial next steps in tackling and defeating respiratory disease of Bone Marrow Transplant.”
In the past 17 months since the establishment of the foundation, BELLA T has funded initial research directly from proceeds raised by the foundation, specifically first stage research which has identified certain biomarkers that can be measured before a bone marrow transplant to predict a child’s risk of lung disease.
“This research will help identify high risk patients so that they can receive appropriately targeted medical management to reduce these risks of transplant,” Mrs Tripp said.
“Significantly, the research we have supported has identified two existing medications that may be able treat respiratory complications much more effectively than existing treatment protocols, with less side effects.
“The research has also developed a better understanding of exactly what goes wrong in children with lung complications.”
Together, the community can honor Bella’s legacy by helping other children and families in their time of need.
So why not join in for this incredible event that combines great music, good company, and a powerful cause.
