As part of the Beacon Foundation program, the Speed Careering event invited professionals from various industries to share their lives with the students.
Students had five minutes with each of the guests, asking questions specific to their professions but also more broadly about work life in general.
Shepparton High School career practitioner Mary-Ann Linehan said Speed Careering is one of the most highly anticipated events in the school's careers calendar.
"The kids are really engaged in it because it's short and sharp and they get the information they need," she said.
"It's just a really fun, casual event and we love it."
Professionals on the day included lawyers, a police officer, bankers, an electrician, a funeral director, a cleaner and an engineer to name a few.
Ms Linehan said this is one of four events the school runs as part of its Beacon Foundation program.
"They get an experience of work right throughout year 10," she said.
Many students expressed an interest in careers in law enforcement, psychology, medicine and trade work.
