VIEW, which stands for ‘Voice, Interests and Education of Women’, is a network of close to 280 clubs and over 13,000 women throughout Australia.
For 65 years, VIEW has connected women with others in the community.
VIEW provides a place for women to enjoy social activities and develop lasting friendships — all while supporting the work of children’s education charity The Smith Family.
“This year, as we celebrate ‘65 years of Making a Difference’, is the perfect time to join VIEW, as social events are truly back on the calendar; trivia afternoons, theatre events and Bunnings barbecues,” club president Geri Williams said.
“Our events and activities are a way that we raise funds to support the education of children and young people experiencing disadvantages through The Smith Family.”
VIEW is proud to be the largest community sponsor of The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program, which provides students with financial, educational and personal support.
Ms Williams says this is crucial, particularly in the current economic climate.
“We have all been hit by the rising cost of living, be it power prices, food or petrol,” she said.
“But these rises have had an even greater impact on those already doing it tough.
“Parents shouldn’t have to choose between putting dinner on the table or buying their child a uniform for school.
“This is why it is so important that we can help children experiencing disadvantage with their education.”
Nationally, VIEW supports the education of nearly 1800 students through the Learning for Life program, ensuring they have educational support and what they need for the school year.
Shepparton Day VIEW Club is currently supporting eight students.
The next Shepparton Day VIEW Club meeting will take place at the Peppermill Inn on Wednesday, April 2 at 11am for an 11.30am start.
To go as a guest, attendees are advised to RSVP to public relations officer Susanne Wright on 0409 331 930 by March 26.
VIEW is a national women's organisation with over 13,000 members in almost 280 communities.
Members sponsor students, volunteer, fundraise and advocate to improve the life outcomes of Australian children and young people experiencing disadvantage.
The Smith Family helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.
