Sixteen sites for hay bale trail

The Cheeky Elf: Elf on the Shelf has become a Christmas phenomenon, much to the delight of children and occasional chagrin of their parents. He is located on the grounds of the Tongala Primary School.
Triple treat: Three hay bale creations are on the Miller St entrance to Tongala Primary School, among them this Vegemite jar titled Christmas Spread. It was one of two hay bales sponsored by the Tongala Football Netball Club.
There’s a bear in there: Anthea Peatling and her children were the talented crew behind this Paddington Bear creation, which is fittingly situated outside the Country Kidz Childcare and Pre-school facility on Henderson Rd. It was sponsored by Ivan and Janice Wild.
Ali Farrell’s Rudolph’s Retreat creation is at the entrance to the Tongala Bowls Club on Finlay Rd, which has come on board as a sponsor for the Hay Bale Trail — boasting 16 colourful and connected creations in 2022.
One list you do want to be on: Sarah Hill’s painstaking Santa’s Nice List creation has hundreds of children’s names and advice on how to be included on the nice list. It is outside Cavell Manna in Tongala and is sponsored by Pam Eliason.
Do you want to build a Snowman? At the northern entrance to the town a waving snowman named Olaf, created by Georgie Hacon, is the first hay bale that people will see at the entrance to Tongala Child Care.
Gingerbread man: Amber Townsend is a leading figure within the Tongala Development Group and her talents extend well beyond organising events, as evidenced by her Gingerbread Man creation.
Bluey Boulevard: Anna Fitzgerald, Dael Summers and Kristen Gordon combined their resources to produce a significant portion of the cast from ABC Kids television series, Bluey — including enthusiastic and impatient pink poodle Coco.
The First Christmas: Students from St Patrick's Primary School were responsible for this unique hay bale depiction of a baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the associated characters from the barn birth scene.
