Six very diverse and interesting gardens will be on display from 10am to 4pm.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the public to wander through a variety of gardens and perhaps chat with, and obtain advice from, the owners.
Tickets are $20 per person, which allows entry to all six gardens.
Tickets are available for purchase on the day at the Lions Care Centre (Function Rooms), 5 Adams Street Tocumwal.
The Tocumwal Lions Club is catering at the Lions Care Centre with morning tea ($5) and lunch ($10) available for either dine in or takeaway.
Each of the six garden owners invite visitors to enjoy lunch or morning tea in the surrounds of their gardens.
Gardens on display include those of Sharon Dennis, Geoff and Kerren Edwards, John and Lynne Gradie, Bill and Judy Harvie, Peter and Rosie Webb, and Ron and Marg Dixon.
Added attractions include a plant and produce stall, handmade pottery creations and a handmade quilt display.
All six gardens are located within the boundaries of Tocumwal, and a program containing a map, directions and further details will be available on purchase of tickets.
Make sure to also buy a raffle ticket.
Three raffle prizes are on offer, comprising a Byramine Homestead and Brewery voucher, a garden trolley and its contents, and a Tuppaware package.
Proceeds from the event will be distributed at the discretion of the Tocumwal Optimists to local community organisations and other needy causes.
The Optimists encourage and appreciate your support of the Tocumwal Open Gardens’ Day, their major fundraiser for 2023.
Please note that this is a cash only event and there will be no EFTPOS facilities available.
For further information, contact Marg Dixon on 0419 438 887.

The Tocumwal Foreshore has had a new addition in the form of some new lighting.
The new lighting is a project of the Berrigan Shire Council and are a series of various lights, charge stations and security measures where the pole and lights themselves are actually made from anti-vandal solar panels.
The light installed on the Foreshore even boasts one of these phone charging pads with another to be installed at the Tocumwal Aviation Museum.

After some wet weather early in the weekend, race stewards unfortunately deemed the Tocumwal racetrack unsafe for horse races on Saturday.
This did not stop the racegoers who donned their finery and attended the phantom race meeting for a great social day out.
There was fashions on the field, kids’ activities and plenty of food and drink.
Congratulations to the Tocumwal Race Committee on such a great event in disappointing circumstances.
