Echuca’s Paramount Theatre, in fact, so if you consider yourself an Ogre, Princess, Lord, Donkey or Puss in Boots, this could be for you.
Echuca Moama Theatre Company (EMTC) is back after the COVID pandemic put a hold on its annual musical productions. And they are recruiting for a bigger-than-ever return with Shrek the Musical.
Kyabram will play a big part in the staging of the Shrek musical, with Dillmac expected to fill several roles in the cast.
Dillmac was a part of the Shrek junior production several years ago and with so many characters required, a significant Kyabram presence is assured in the cast.
Chris McDonald will be the music director and lighting expert, Trish Deakin, will be in charge of that area – enhancing the Kyabram flavour.
The last children’s production was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, way back in 2014.
EMTC stalwarts Darcy Elliott, Tamara Cadd and Mark Thomson have taken on the task of directing the hilarious show, which will be open to adults and children over the age of 12.
After having to cut short last year’s production of Little Shop of Horrors, the directors are excited to finally have a show on the table and plans under way to put members back on the stage and perform a show for the community.
Anyone interested in being part of the show is encouraged to attend an information night on Tuesday, December 13 at 7pm at the EMTC Simmie St shed.
It is open to ages 12 and above.
