Rein in those wild thoughts,
The ones that buck and rear.
Promising to throw you off,
Cause you pain,
Broken bones,
Burns and bruises,
When you least expect it.
Turn to face them,
Fraudulent as they are,
Simply thoughts,
Passing through.
You could try
Berating them,
Holding them down,
Tying them up,
With rope.
Wrapping them firmly,
Sealing them with Gaffer tape,
Restraining them,
With layers of Glad wrap,
Even locking them in jail.
Simply thoughts
Passing through
Or you could
Cradle them in your arms,
Apologising for whatever,
Or whomever,
Aggrieved them.
Love them,
Befriend them,
And they will melt like snow.
Watering the ground,
That's been begging for rain.
Simply thoughts
Passing through.
