The Dookie Agricultural Show will return after two years and will be the first show in the Goulburn Valley since the Shepparton Agricultural Show earlier this month, as many shows across the region have been cancelled due to flooding.

The family-friendly event will be held on Saturday, October 29, at the Dookie Showgrounds from 9am to 4.30pm, with the sheds opening at about noon after judging.
Dookie Agricultural Show president Peter Shields said the event was essential for Dookie and he was glad the show was returning after its hiatus due to COVID-19.
“We're excited because it gives the community a chance to earn money to keep the Lions Club going, and we have seen a lot more entries into our show events because other region’s shows have cancelled,” Mr Shields said.
The show will feature a range of children’s games, market stalls, vintage steam engines and kids’ activities, including the egg and spoon race.
Furthermore, it will also have a range of agricultural events.
A crucial part of the show’s events will be the popular dog jump contest and the equestrian dressage event, which acts as a qualifier for the Garryowen trophy.
“In dressage there are a few categories this year with people competing in the Garryowen, with a lot of pressure to earn enough points to compete in Melbourne,” Mr Shields said.
“Anyone can bring their dog along, from a Sealyham to a Great Dane; we have jumps for small dogs and a larger one as well.”
Mr Shields said the Dookie Lions Club would be holding a barbecue and the football club would provide drinks for young and old.
Tickets to the show are $10 for adults and $5 for pensioners, with children under 14 free.
