To mark the centre’s achievements across the years, it will host a celebration open to all community members.
The visitor centre’s achievements have been recognised across Victoria, taking out a number of awards such as the first ever Victorian Tourism Award in 2003 for Volunteer Team of the Year.
In 2017 the centre received a gold award and last year a silver award from the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards, recognising tourism innovation and excellence.
City of Greater Shepparton Deputy Mayor Shelley Sutton said the visitor centre offered excellent services for the municipality.
‘‘We are privileged in Shepparton to have a team of dedicated volunteers and staff with a passion for the community to help promote our region and assist with our many visitors,’’ Cr Sutton said.
‘‘Open seven days a week, the team assists thousands of visitors each year and is always working with local businesses to promote our town.’’
The anniversary celebrations will feature entertainment by Enchanted Rainbow as well as Into the Wild Education, which will bring some special party guests.
The celebration will take place on Saturday, May 11, from 10am to 4pm at Greater Shepparton Visitor Centre, 33 Nixon St, Shepparton.
