Over two weekends, the Shepparton Harness Racing Club rooms will transform into a deal hunter’s delight and a collectible Casanova’s dream.
Event coordinators Liz Butler and Cathy Brown-Hamill along with fellow members of the Soroptimist group have sifted through six months of donations, and now they’re ready for their efforts to come to fruition.
“We’ve got toys, clothes, furniture, a toilet, a washing machine, antiques – genuine antiques, we have a lot of vintage items that young and old generations would want,” Ms Butler said.
“For the creative mind, the one that can think outside the box, you could do a lot of of things with it – it’s all good stuff.”
“We have many generous donations from the community for our garage sale, and all proceeds will be donated to Shepparton charities,” Ms Brown-Hamill added.
The last garage sale raised about $11,000 and was distributed to local not-for-profits such as GV Hospice.
It’s an impressive figure, but given the enormity of the new location and it being chock-a-block with items filling the space, this garage sale is looking to exceed that amount.
Soroptimist International of Shepparton’s Giant Charity Garage Sale is on November 16 to 18 and November 23 to 25 at Shepparton Harness Racing Club, 7580 Goulburn Valley Hwy, Kialla.
On Thursdays and Fridays, it will open from 9am to 4pm, and on Saturdays from 8.30am to 4pm.
Both cash and card payments accepted.
