EMERGE festival was a once-off event organised by GOTAFE, with The Cat Empire playing alongside Goulburn Valley artists JB and Me, BricKy B, Tenielle McKenzie and Drmngnow.
GOTAFE media and public relations advisor Maddi Devoy said it was a wonderful afternoon, with an estimated 1000 people turning up.
“Despite the weather, we had a good turnout, lots of families coming down to play and have kids enjoy the balloon animals and hair braiding and more,” she said.
“We weren’t too sure how many people we were going to get, but across the afternoon we were very, very pleased.
“We really wanted to provide people to celebrate and come together.”
EMERGE was put together in partnership with Music Victoria, the Victorian Government and LaTrobe and Melbourne universities.
