The day was packed with people keen to show off their St Patrick’s spirit by wearing their brightest green and orange colours.
With 36 teams made up of 144 people there on the day, fundraiser convenor Ron Holland called the day a success, saying he was happy to see so many people there.
“Everyone seemed to have a good time. Perfect weather for it. Given the circumstances (of COVID-19) I thought it was pretty good,” he said.
“Generally speaking, many of the businesses were really good even though a few had been affected by COVID-19 and some weren’t able to contribute this year. It proved to be a very popular event.”
The event also saw over $10,000 worth of prizes taken home, as donated by local businesses.
FoodShare operations co-ordinator Grace Grieve was there on the day and was thrilled at the generosity of Shepparton Park Bowls Club and its members attending the event.
“It was fantastic, it was such an amazing day,” she said.
“Shepparton Park Bowls Club are amazing. They’re so generous and kind for choosing FoodShare to donate to. It was an honour to be there on the day with them.”
“This will help us buy food staples that will help the most needed in our community, these funds are just an incredible bonus for us and we’re so grateful for them. We can’t speak highly enough of them.”
