She said her office received complaints that no buses run between the two biggest towns in Greater Shepparton on Sundays and public holidays.
“There are people who live in Mooroopna and Tatura that want to attend church on Sundays, or visit family or do a bit of shopping in Shepparton,” Ms Lovell said.
“I also receive complaints regarding bus routes from people living in retirement villages that the services are not on time or stop too far away from them.
“A bus review would see what services are available in Shepparton, and the frequency of buses. Since the last review there have been changes in demographic, so it's time for a new one."
The most recent upgrade to bus services in Greater Shepparton was in 2009.
Ms Lovell said it was time to upgrade the services in preparation for the growth of the region.
“Shepparton and Mooroopna have a combined population of 68,900 ... expected to grow to over 83,000 by 2036.
“Greater Shepparton has many people who rely heavily on the town bus for transportation, but the current services are inadequate, and a review of the network is required.”
A Victorian Government spokesperson said the government was continuing to invest in and review bus networks across regional Victoria, however would not say if it would conduct a review in Shepparton in the near future.
