Nick Brown has indicated he will step aside from coaching at the completion of the season to focus more on his family.
Brown, 31, is currently in his first season as senior coach of the Eagles, but said he made the decision to step aside in the best interests of his family.
"I spoke to the club a month ago of my intentions and they've been really supportive of my decision," Brown said.
"I've been coaching for 10 years now and it felt like the right time to step aside.
"I need to enjoy some time with the kids and wife, my two boys have only ever known me as a coach really.
"But I'm really excited for the next four rounds, I'm going to give 100 per cent."
When Brown took charge at the end of last season, the club was unsure of which league it would play in.
Less than five players from last year's side stuck around, making the Eagles' four wins to date this year as a huge effort.
"When the Shepp East job came up, it was too good of an opportunity to pass up (coaching home club)," he said.
"As a coach, I'm all in. I invest heavily and it becomes a big part of your everyday life.
"Footy is a relationship thing for me, it's more than just results.
"But I feel now the time is right to step aside and let someone else take over.
"I'll miss it, there's no doubt about it."
With Shepparton East now on the hunt for a new coach, Brown said whoever it decided on would lead a club with a bright future.
"The club is in a really strong position with its juniors," he said.
"And the best thing is, off the field they are all great kids - the club is really lucky to have them.
"The next coach will have a great foundation to work with."
But Brown is still yet to sing the club song in the home rooms at Central Park Reserve, with all four wins coming on the road.
He gets a chance this weekend when the Eagles host Girgarre in round 14.
"I haven't sang at home yet," he said.
"That's the goal for the next four games, to clinch a win at home in front of the supporters."
