Bristax, an accounting firm based in Melbourne, has unveiled new research on which towns and cities across Australia are thriving business hubs.
Surprisingly, Shepparton has come out on top as Australia’s best entrepreneurial city, making it the best spot in the country to jump-start your own start-up or small business.
Across Australia, 50 cities were analysed for their survival rates of new businesses, their growth rates, the number of people who have founded businesses and the amount of small businesses compared to the number of residents.
Shepparton clinched the top spot with a score of 6.96 out of 10, followed closely by Victorian regional hubs Ballarat and Geelong and beating out many major metropolitan cities.
According to Bristax, Shepparon ranked so highly due to a significant rise in small businesses over the past three years, as well as having the highest number of small businesses per 100,000 people, with more than 16,000 small businesses.
So, if you’ve been waiting for that push to start your own business in Shepparton, now’s your chance.
