The GV Health Foundation, which raises money for Shepparton’s local health services, received the support this month for its vital prostate cancer services.
The raffle, drawn on Friday, September 20, collected $3770.
The money from every ticket bought went directly support GV Health’s specialist prostate cancer nurse service, helping local men manage unexpected medical costs, such as specific scans not covered by Medicare.
The funds from the Shepparton Club couldn’t be more timely or needed.
Prostate cancer claims the lives of 10 men daily, and over 25,000 Australians are diagnosed annually, according to GV Health.
“We are very grateful for the Shepparton Club’s support,” prostate cancer specialist nurse Sonia Strachan said.
