Held in Bendigo recently, Cooper finished third in the Australian Masters 35 to 40 age group and finished second in the Victorian Masters 35 to 40 age group.
To achieve the result, Cooper competed in seven events, over two days, including the 100m hurdles, long jump, shotput, 200m, high jump, javelin and 800m.
Athletes were scored a certain number of points for each event depending on their performance.
At the end of the two days, points are totalled to determine overall placings.
Cooper, alongside other members, will again represent Shepparton at higher honours when championships are held in March and April.
Cooper isn't the only member to have success lately, with club secretary and athlete Glenn McMillian competing in the Parkdale Gift's 3200m event.
While he didn't reach the heights of the podium like Cooper, McMillian got to compete against the likes of 1500m Olympic finalist Ryan Gregson, Olympic finalist in the 5000m Brett Robertson, 1500m and 3000m national record-holder Stewart McSweyn, World Championships 1500m representative Jordy Williamsz and World Championships representative in the steeple chase Ben Buckingham.
McMillian finished 13th out of 24 runners in the handicapped race, which was won by Robertson.
McMillian also won his heat at Bendigo's 5km Frenzy event on January 15, run by the Bendigo Harriers Athletics Club.
He won his heat in a time of 15.37.32.
