More than 100 people are expected to join the Festival Opening Walking Tour, which will take participants through exhibitions of painting, drawing and other art forms, with the evening rounding out with beer and pizza.
Running until April 13, this year’s festival features 42 events across Greater Shepparton, spanning hands-on workshops, live performances and unique art installations.
“We are really pleased to see so many people queueing up for a really diverse range of events at this year’s festival,” festival director Kristen Retallick said.
“There are 13 free events, and many other low cost experiences, as well as some specialised opportunities in dance, ceramics and art making in other modes.
“There are still plenty of opportunities to join in the festival fun – just check out the program online on the festival events page,” she said.
This year’s festival line-up includes everything from a one-of-a-kind underwater sonic experience at Aquamoves to comedy roadshows making their way across the region. In Mooroopna, the Country Music Paint Party combines art and live music for a creative session that promises to be colourful.
The program also offers workshops in watercolour, digital art, dance and singing, as well as a variety of plays, music recitals and new dance performances
“Come and check out a new art experience at this year’s festival,” Ms Retallick said.
“We are really grateful for the support of our sponsors including Creative Victoria, Greater Shepparton City Council and the Fairley Foundation.”
