The intersection of Stokes Rd and the Murray Valley Hwy, Strathmerton, was the site of a crash on February 15 this year, where one person died and also left two police officers with serious injuries.
Ms Sheed recently visited the intersection and spoke in parliament about the dangers associated with the crossing.
She said that a rise on Labuan Rd was a short distance from the ‘give way’ sign and the Murray Valley Hwy, which made it very difficult for motorists to see the intersection.
Ms Sheed told Mr Carroll that the intersection had a ‘give way’ sign instead of a stop sign.
Ms Sheed asked the minister if he would assess the intersection with a view to installing ‘stop’ signs and rumble strips, and taking necessary steps to make the crossing safe, as a matter of urgency.
