Visitors to our area will have the opportunity to see all the skills involved in the procedure in town next month.
The Mathoura Speed Shear competition will be conducted on November 2 with competitors in the intermediate, women, contractors, relay, seniors, and Trans Tasman competitions showing their skills.
A total of $12,000 in cash and prizes will be up for grabs of the day.
Food and refreshments will also be available as well as entertainment for the kids.
The event will be held at the Mathoura football ground from noon, so don’t miss it.

Congratulations to the initiators of Mathoura’s gardening ‘Buy, Swap and Sell’ event last weekend.
Held in the grounds of the Mathoura Public School, it included a good selection of plants available for the local green thumbs.
The event raised about $2,000 for Mathoura Public School.

Full marks to Mathoura Tennis Club which is now offering junior social tennis, to allow juniors a chance to have a hit with their friends.
The club is offering 30 minutes of casual tennis fun on Wednesday nights from 6pm.
A barbecue tea is also being offered.

With summer fast approaching locals of all ages are being urged to be careful outside, particularly in grassy or rubbishy areas.
There have been quite a few reports of snakes being seen around town, and we don’t want anyone suffering snake bites.
