Played at East Shepparton, the top side finished off what was a dominant season, in which it only lost one game, as it saluted in a 48 to 43 result.
Rinks were shared in the contest, with VRI's Garry Bester defeating his opponent 31-16.
Lakers skip Arch Patterson made things interesting with a 27-17 result, but unfortunately for them it wasn't enough to gain the overall lead.
VRI president Wayne Noonan praised both teams for the competitive final.
“It was a good game, a close game, it was very tight and I thought both clubs played really well,” Noonan said.
“One of our rinks had a fair lead and was able to cover the other rink.
“We had four players win their first ever premiership and two who played their first finals."
Noonan praised the host club for its efforts on the day.
“Thanks to East Shepp,” he said.
“The facilities were great and they looked after not just us, but all the other teams.
“I thought they did a marvellous job.”
Depending on how the restructure of Goulburn Valley Bowls Division looks for next season, VRI is hoping to be elevated to division five for 2021-22.
