Sewer works to impact major Shepparton intersection

Works to a major Shepparton sewer main will occur next week.

A major sewer main in Shepparton will undergo works from Monday through until Wednesday.

As part of Goulburn Valley Water’s annual sewer infrastructure renewal and rehabilitation program, drilling will occur at five locations across Rowe and Archer Sts on Monday, July 8.

Crews will return to complete works through Tuesday, July 9 and Wednesday, July 10.

The drilling works will take place from 6pm-9pm on Monday night in an attempt to reduce the impact on traffic in the area.

“There are more than 320km of sewer main pipelines in Shepparton and many of them have been in use for a number of years,” GVW managing director Steve Capewell said.

“Our rehabilitation program means we can extend the life of our infrastructure to ensure it can continue providing a reliable service for our customers, without the need to invest significant amounts of money in replacing assets.”

Car parking along Rowe St behind the shopping centre and along Archer St’s southbound lane will be impacted during the works.

Traffic management will be in place and motorists may experience slight delays at times near the Archer and Rowe St intersection and along Rowe St.

Works have been scheduled to reduce the impact on motorists and the nearby Archer St bus stop as much as possible.

The works will not impact any customer services.
