The talent and creative energy of young emerging artists has been recognised at Shepparton Art Museum’s new series of art and design awards.

Winners of the Fresh: GV Top Art and Design 2021 awards, supported by SAM and La Trobe University, received cash prizes at a special ceremony held at the new Shepparton building on Wednesday, December 15.
Judges David Menzies (National Gallery of Victoria), artist Jason Phu and Elizabeth Capp (La Trobe University, Shepparton campus) reviewed and awarded work in six categories: ceramics, drawing, mixed media, painting, photography and digital media, and visual communication design.
The wider community was also given a chance to have its say, casting votes for the People’s Choice award.
