Campaspe Shire Council has given approval to sell a small portion of land as part of the car park at 63 Moore St, Rochester, to the State Emergency Service and Country Fire Authority.
The parcel of land is next to the site where Rochester emergency services hub is to be built.
Council publicly advertised the proposed intention to sell part of the parcel of land in November and the proposed sale was endorsed at the most recent council meeting.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell said the new hub would enhance the services that were available in the district.
"We are thrilled to support this joint venture between the SES and CFA,’’ he said.
‘’The new hub will provide both services with the facilities they need to continue their vital work in our community.
‘’This joint hub will be a wonderful addition for the emergency responders in the Rochester community.”
