Rochester Community House co-ordinator Amanda Logie said she was grateful for the experiences and memories made.
“We want to thank all the stall holders and volunteers over the years,” Ms Logie said.
“Unfortunately with the impacts of COVID, we no longer have the capacity to run the market.”
Saturday, June 26, was the final time the Community House steered the ship.
The change in management will also lead to a change in location, with the market moving from Rochester Skate Park to a more central location.
“The current location at the skate park is two blocks away from general traffic flow,” Rochester Business Network president Glenda Nichol said.
“We’re hoping with the move, stallholders will have increased business as people driving by will stop and visit the market.”
Market co-ordinator Christelle Reinbolt will be liaising with stallholders and supervising the market.
Ms Reinbolt has previously taken part in organising events, markets and festivals overseas.
“It’s a big job but we’re excited; the market gives an opportunity for local artisans to sell their products,” Ms Reinbolt said.
“It’s a nice town, with nice people. There’s no reason why it shouldn’t work.”
