Roaring boats, thrilling planes and big crowds await

“We have already sold around 4,000 tickets online, which is more than the same time as last year,” Mr Russell said.

“With Easter occurring the weekend before, we believe many people and families will take the entire week off into the Anzac Day.”

For more than 50 years, Lake Mulwala has hosted the prestigious, annual racing event, drawing thousands of enthusiasts and showcasing some of the world's fastest Grand Prix Hydroplanes.

This year’s event includes the coveted EC Griffith Cup and for the second time, the National Driver’s Championship (Round 2) along with a complete book of races over three days.

Mr Russell promised an electrifying festival atmosphere, featuring the Yarrawonga Foreshore Fair, Saturday evening live music, and thrilling aerial displays over Lake Mulwala by Red Bull Air Race World Champion Matt Hall.

There will also be a market, sideshow alley with rides for kids of all ages, a selection of food vendors, a licenced bar and a VIP area for 18 plus.

“We are planning now for another big event and the economic benefits will hopefully come again as we expect our new additions to add significant visitor numbers to the already large crowds that flock to the Yarrawonga foreshore,” Mr Russell said.

Due to Anzac Day falling on the first day of the event, gates will not open until noon for presale tickets and at 1pm for on-the-day ticket sales.
