The transfer of the college’s registration changes the school’s name to Australian Christian College Echuca.
Australian Christian College Echuca principal Kevin Sourgen knows that the whole of the college’s community is excited about the future of the school.
“The school in its current iteration has existed for 42 years,” Mr Sourgen said.
“As we look to better serve the community, as we look forward to, in the near future, offering Year 11 and 12, we strongly felt that joining in with Christian Education Ministries was going to set the school up for even greater success.
“That process has occurred, and we are now very excited and busy with the changeover and cannot wait to see what the future holds, as Australia Christian College Echuca.
“It means that as a college we have a greater capacity.”
The college’s enrolment has grown significantly in recent years and is well positioned to continue on this trajectory into 2024.
By becoming part of Christian Education Ministries, the college will have greater access to infrastructure resources in terms of marketing, IT and curriculum, ensuring a greater capacity for the school as a whole.
Going forward into 2024, there will be a whole new uniform and brand for the students, with current families provided assistance to purchase new uniforms.
“We are really excited that we are able to offer the Echuca, Moama and surrounding areas what is going to be a leading educational experience,” Mr Sourgen said.
“As part of Christian Education Ministries, we work collaboratively to ensure that we are offering all our students across all the states, the best opportunities, so yes, our local students will reap those benefits of that network as well.
“It means that there is a fresh start in some ways, a new beginning, but at the same time building on the legacy that has come before us.
“Our teaching and supports staff all remain and we continue to offer excellent education in the classroom.
“Currently, we are offering the Victorian curriculum, with there being a slight change as we move to the Australian curriculum, but that is not a massive change.
“It lines up with all the other Australian Christian College schools across Australia, in terms of pedagogy and teacher practice, meaning greater resources and greater networking opportunities to continuously improve on our practice.”
