It is looking into opening its first ever Benalla fuel and convenience store at 18-20 Bridge Street West.
The idea is part of the Australian-owned-and-operated company’s regional growth strategy.
That strategy is part of 7-Eleven’s commitment to providing regional Australians with the same access to choice and convenience available to people in metropolitan areas.
If plans are approved, the company’s store would join a number of others in Wodonga and Shepparton, which would collectively represent up to a $10 million investment in job creation and economic growth in Victoria’s north.
The company’s planned expansion is expected to provide job and career opportunities to about 70 people ongoing across the north-east, with many more during the construction phases.
According to Nick Maddox, 7-Eleven Area Lead South, the company will be looking to recruit locals for team member and manager roles in the years ahead.
“The opportunity is also there for those who might be looking to shift into our industry from other fields,” Mr Maddox said.
“The team members we recruit will be provided with extensive training to deliver an excellent customer experience, so previous work history in the petrol and convenience industry isn’t a requirement.
“The next store we expect to open is High St, Wodonga in December 2022, and then additional stores are expected to open in Shepparton and Albury Wodonga in 2023.
“We are continuing to work with landlords and developers to open stores in the right locations to meet the needs of the community.”
