Residents in Lenne and Howe Sts, and the surrounding areas, were inundated, well above the 1974 flood level, during the floods, with water taking nearly two weeks to go down.
Greater Shepparton City Council investigated the Lenne St catchment’s existing stormwater drainage network after that major flood event.
That investigation has led to modelling and plans for improvements in the area, and they are now ready to be put to the community.
Council has invited residents in the area to attend an information drop-in session to discuss the plans and provide feedback and comments.
The drop-in session is on Friday, October 27 from 5pm to 7pm at Mooroopna Education and Activity Centre, 23 Alexandra St, Mooroopna.
Residents are welcome to discuss the proposed drainage improvement plans.
Residents unable to attend are encouraged to contact council by emailing council@shepparton.vic.gov.au or phoning 5832 9700.
