Go Adventure Nagambie has won two gold awards at the 2023 Victorian Tourism Awards, making it the only business in Victoria to do so.
Owned and operated by Nagambie locals Lee and Kymberleigh Rowland, the business exceeded Victorian tourism leaders in the categories of tourism retail, hire and services and adventure tourism.
The Victorian Tourism Awards recognise businesses that exceed industry standards and display excellence, innovation, professionalism, and collaboration.
Winning dual gold awards in the same year is a rare feat, with very few businesses achieving this in the Victorian Tourism Awards’ 37-year history.
It’s an even more impressive accomplishment given Go Adventure Nagambie was completely destroyed in the floods of October 2022.
The business lost three months of its operating season due to the one-in-100-year flood event.
Recovery efforts in Nagambie continue, with ongoing issues such as the closure of Kirwan’s Bridge and Old Chinamans Bridge continuing to challenge the region.
As a dual winner of the Victorian Tourism Awards, Go Adventure Nagambie is now a dual finalist for the 2023 Australian Tourism Awards held in Darwin in March 2024.
It will compete against internationally-renowned businesses such as the National Museum of Australia, representing the ACT, and Sydney Harbour Kayaks, representing NSW.
