A total of 80 runners and walkers gathered at 7.30am on Saturday, April 5 for the inaugural event, along with volunteers and representatives from various organisations.
Pyramid Hill Golf Trail parkrun director Jason Deller said the event went seamlessly, and initial feedback had been positive.
“There were no hiccups, and it was just such a lovely experience,” he said.
“There’s this part of it that I wasn’t expecting, and that’s the fact that everyone is so happy to be there. That’s infectious.”
Held on Pyramid Hill Golf Club grounds, the track winds around the hill’s base, which Mr Deller said makes for an engaging and picturesque course.

“Every bend has a different view, and it’s got ups and downs, but it’s undulating,” he said.
“For those that do like running and trying to improve times, it makes it challenging... the trail runners really like it.”
Along with parkrun’s physical health benefits, Mr Deller said the event will offer other advantages to the community.
It’s common for parkrun fans to travel around the state and try different courses, which could boost tourism and hospitality in the area.
The event is also free, open to all ages, has volunteering opportunities, and will be a weekly fixture on the calendar, creating a regular, social event.

“What I’m told is, every Saturday, you end up with a group of people that become close-knit,” Mr Deller said.
“I just can’t emphasise enough how friendly everyone has been.
“We’re very happy with it, and looking forward to every week having this event in town.”
The parkrun has been in the works for the last year or so, and was made possible with help from Loddon Shire Council, Healthy Loddon Campaspe, the golf club, and the Pyramid Hill Progress Association.
