A $3.2 million community centre has been officially opened in Pyramid Hill, boosting health outcomes for the town.

Members of Loddon Shire Council, Northern District Community Health, Regional Development Victoria, and local community groups attended the opening on Thursday, April 17.
State Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh was in attendance, and was described by council chief executive Lincoln Fitzgerald as a “great supporter” of the project.
Addressing the crowd of community members and representatives, Mayor Dan Straub said it was an honour to open the centre.

“This historic occasion marks a new chapter for our community, providing a space that will serve us as a hub of connection, growth and wellbeing,” he said.
“I’m very proud to say today that we celebrate this new facility that brings lasting value to our community.”
The centre is a refurbishment and extension to the existing Pyramid Hill Senior Citizens Centre, providing a multipurpose facility with a state-of-the-art health wing attached.

NDCH chief executive Penny Wilkinson said the organisation’s primary goal is to work with and strengthen communities, promoting health and connection.
The organisation provides a mix of healthcare services, including nursing, allied health, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy.

“We’re really excited about the prospect of growing and providing more of our work here in this facility,” Ms Wilkinson said.
Cr Straub said he was now pushing for the second stage of the centre’s development, which would incorporate the Pyramid Hill Neighbourhood House and library services.
The centre was made possible by funding from the Victorian government’s Regional Infrastructure Fund, Loddon Shire Council, and NDCH.
