Attendees will enjoy a three-course meal and drinks with live music, while an ever-changing backdrop of evening sky fades to starlight.
The gala event will be held amid the greenery of ConnectGV social enterprise Billabong Garden Complex, with all proceeds going toward fitting out a new learning centre at Billabong.
ConnectGV chief operating officer Anthony Putt said the centre would provide a vibrant and interactive space for people with a disability and the broader community.
The centre will offer a place for learning, meetings, private dining and for social groups to come together, all in the tranquil garden surrounds of Billabong.
Mr Putt said the new centre was a result of ConnectGV continually reviewing its programs to ensure they were diverse enough to meet the individual needs of people living with a disability and the community.
Billabong Garden Complex supported employee Daphne will speak at the event on how being employed at Billabong and making community connections changed her life.
“We have the privilege of watching our supported employees achieve and thrive; Daphne is no exception, she loves her work at Billabong,” Mr Putt said.
“Through the opportunities provided, we really are propagating dreams.”
Billabong’s supported employees not only grow many of the plants for sale at Billabong, they also grow plants for other nurseries across the state and large commercial projects.
Purchases at Billabong help to provide meaningful training, work experience and employment options for local people living with a disability.
ConnectGV, a registered NDIS provider, has been a part of the community for almost 70 years and now offers individual support, employment, accommodation, NDIS plan management and support co-ordination.
The event will be held on Friday, March 18, at 6.30pm. Tickets are $150 per person and are available by pre-sale only from ConnectGV at 12 Bowenhall St, Shepparton, or by calling 5821 2466.
