The offender dumped that vehicle and then left the scene. Police recovered the stolen car and towed it away for further examination. Efforts to find the offender are ongoing.
On May 14, at about 1.40pm, Echuca police observed a silver-grey Holden Commodore sedan parked on Annesley St, Echuca.
The driver reversed out erratically, and when police tried to intercept it, the car failed to stop and took off at a fast speed. Police are still trying to locate the offender.
Man faces drugs charge
A 23-year-old Echuca man has been charged by Echuca police after allegedly being found with drugs on Ogilvie Ave, Echuca, on May 13.
Police said the man was riding his bike at 12.40am when he was stopped by officers. Officers conducted a search of the man and located a large deal bag allegedly containing cannabis and a set of scales.
Alleged break-in and attack
On May 12, at about 3.15pm, police allege a 42-year-old man damaged a window and gained entry into an Echuca property.
There was a woman in the house at the time who told him to leave. Police said the man assaulted the woman outside the property and then fled with her phone.
Police said later in the evening, the man returned to the property in an agitated and aggressive state. Officers arrived at the scene and took the man to the Echuca police station, where he was charged and remanded in custody.
Arson at unit
An unknown offender entered the backyard of a unit on Ogilvie Ave, Echuca, on May 13 at about 8.45pm.
Police said the person lit several items at the back door, causing minor damage. The occupant of the house notified the CFA, whose firefighters came and extinguished the fire.
