Police are investigating a fire that started near Kyabram District Health Service.
Four CFA units responded to a fire on Fenaughty St at 4.16pm on Thursday, January 30.
Units from Kyabram, Girgarre and Tongala attended the scene.
On arrival, crews found a small grassfire burning.
The incident was quickly deemed under control at 4.34pm and declared safe at 4.58pm.
A CFA spokesperson said Victoria Police was contacted due to “suspicious circumstances”.
Kyabram police Sergeant Adrian Staudt said he believed the fire was “caused accidentally” and started from an unextinguished cigarette.
Police are still investigating.
