Held on March 4, past, present, and prospective participants stepped through the doors of The Hub on Anglesey St, Seymour for delicious desserts, supportive conversation and lots of laughs.
SEED Project coordinator Sam Hugill said the day was all about connection.
“I’m a pretty strong feminist, so every day should be Women’s Day,” Ms Hugill said.
“But, today is just a chance to bring women together, and let them know that we’re all singing from the same hymn sheet, and we can all do it together.”
Those in attendance were treated with support, conversation, and delicious cakes.

While the day highlights how far the feminist movement has come, SEED Project coordinator Renae Constantini said there’s still a lot of work left to do.
“I think as a society, and as a world, we’re getting better at acknowledging and celebrating women more often, but it’s always nice to have a day to really put it at the forefront of everyone’s mind,” Ms Constantini said.
“There’s still a lot of gaps that we need to continue to work on.”
The morning tea which led into the afternoon acted both as a chance to congratulate all of the hard work graduated SEED Changemakers and current SEED Program participants have put in, and as a way to promote all that SEED does for the community for any newcomers who want to get involved.
