It’s fair to say Corey Williams and his fiancée, Angela Rigoli, keep pretty busy.

Not satisfied with already having jobs, the couple decided earlier this year to open a pizza shop on the Midland Hwy in Shepparton East.
“We both run our own businesses separately and then we saw this location and we said there’s no food out Shepp East way and that’s when we decided we’ll start one up,” Ms Rigoli said.
“Corey had the idea of a pizza shop, so we said, ‘Why not?’”

The premises La Capa Pizza occupies sat vacant for 30 years, but has been brought to life with the aromas of a menu with its roots in Italy, thanks to the influence of Ms Rigoli’s nonna Rita, who was born there before moving to Australia.
“We’re very lucky my nonna gave us the recipe for the dough,” Ms Rigoli said.
“It’s a nice Italian authentic recipe and we’ve got a very nice thin base that we use as well, which is a very traditional Italian type of pizza.
“She’s 75 and yes, she’s always been cooking. Same with my mum. Everyone just cooks and yes, she always does her own bread and pizza so yes, she was happy, luckily enough, to pass the recipe down to us.”
The couple have other home-made products for sale, such as a cookies and cream cheesecake and beef burgers, and they provide gluten free meals as well, which are prepared on an entirely separate bench to their other meals to prevent contamination.
La Capa Pizza is open from noon to 9.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday, with deliveries available through DoorDash.
